Deviation Actions
I feel that this group is really going downhill and we're losing a lot of member's here and there because of the inactivity and sheer boringness of this group. This is actually because I can't get in contact with the founder, but fear not! I am still here! So, since Christmas is coming, I was thinking a lot of you Ev-fans want to get in the spirit and have a 'lil secret santa game going on. SO here's what I'm talking about:
What is a 'Secret Santa'?
"...Secret Santa is a Western Christmas tradition in which members of a group or community are randomly assigned a person to whom they anonymously give a gift. Often practised in workplaces or amongst large families, participation in it is usually voluntary. It offers a way for many people to give and receive a gift at low cost, since the alternative gift tradition is for each person to buy gifts for every other person. In this way, the Secret Santa tradition also encourages gift exchange groups whose members are not close enough to participate in the alternative tradition of giving presents to everyone else."
So how does it work?
What happens is that I will take applications for everyone who wants to be a part of this. They will submit general things, such as their name, what they like to do (art wise), media they prefer drawing in, and what they would like in return (among a few other things, but those are the general ideas). Once the person turns in their application, it will be added to a list of others. After the application phase is finished (it shall be about a week or so long), then I will in turn assign people for those who have entered so they can draw, write, or otherwise create a deviation as a 'gift' to that person they were assigned.
For example: Bob likes to draw pictures of Evanescence. He enjoys drawing sketches of Evanescence. He wants, however, to see a portrait of Amy. After looking through the list, the best match for a person to be giving Bob a deviation gift would be Tyler, because Tyler likes to draw portraits of Amy.
Keep in mind this does not mean that Bob will in turn have to draw something for Tyler; it isn't about pairing people together, it is simply about assigning. The person you are drawing for may not be drawing, writing, making anything at all for you in turn. You won't know who is making a gift for you (and that is partially the joy in finally getting the gift!). *Again; if you want to receive a gift, you must also ensure that you are able to make/create a gift as well. This is suppose to be a fun and exciting thing that we all can enjoy as a group!*
Isn't this a fricken neat idea?
Application:
Mandatory
Optional
Deviant Name: *Your username.*
Your name/nickname: (Sometimes it's nice to know someone's name when creating something for them; can make it a little more personalized.)
About You: (for the same reason stated above)
What media are you best at?: (Are you good at painting? Better at sketching? Please make sure to specify what you are good at, or the type that you prefer overall. You may leave blank ONLY if you are truly uncaring or unknowing of your best media.)
What media are you not so good at?: (Same reason as above, though for opposite ideal. I don't want someone to paint something when they've never used a brush, it's unfair for both parties)
If I could have any deviation for the holidays, I want...: (You can ask for anything here. While you could just drabble on in detail about this one idea for an angsty oneshot you had, it might be in your best interest to come up with at least three ideas. This will ensure that whomever is assigned to make something for you will have a better layout to work with. Of course, you can have more than three, but you don't want too many for the same reason as having too few.)
I CAN/CANNOT DO: (Please make sure to write things that just cross the line. This might include that you may not like drawing or watercolour or anything along the same lines. In the same light, if there are things you are open to doing, of the same nature, please make sure to put that!)
When finished with your application, please NOTE it to me here:my.deviantart.com/notes/#tk=XQ…
I'll be taking applications till the last week before Christmas (Dec. 18, 2012) So please hand in your applications by then, thanks! I'm hoping to see a lot of participants because this seems like a super cool idea!

Amy is Creating Independent Music
An article was released a few days ago where Amy Lee talks about her involvement in the creation of the film score for "War Story" and her collaboration with Dave Eggar. Amy talks about how this music is quite different than her recent works in Evanescence. I don't know about you guys, but I am super excited!
Here's what she has to say:
"It's going to surprise my fans. It's not what you'd expect; the film is very dark, very introspective. There's not even a lot of dialogue, which is great, because to me it makes this beautiful, sad platform for music"

Amy Sues Record Label
So it seems like due to some conflicts, front-runner of Evanescence, Amy Lee has decided to file a lawsuit to their record label: Wind-Up Records.
The details of the lawsuit are still not clear but TMZ (although not a very recommended source) has put some light into the matter.
During this time, I think it's best that we give Amy all the support she needs as it is not easy to challenge a big company such as Wind-Up. Although we may not know the accuracy of these results it's best not to judge Amy or the record label before hand.
From TMZ:
Evanescence founder Amy Lee is waging war with her longtime record label ... claiming the label all b
